The capacity of the tank - more than half the time the person filling
the tank is thrown off a bit by how small it is.  I often get some
varient of "Hey, it's only taking about 2 gallons.  Either you were
practically full already, or there's something wrong."   Taking two
gallons actually means I was getting fairly close to empty.  (The tank
on my '88 is 3.3 gallons, so its "80% fill" capacity is 2.6 gallons;
yours is probably the same or similar.)
