On more than one occasion, the propane service person at various propane
stations was not able to connect the propane "nozzle" to my Westfalia's fill
valve fitting because there wasn't enough clearance between the underside of the
van and the protective stone shield to fit the bulky hose end/nozzle . This
would send him/her off looking for an long and narrow extension fitting to
attach to the hose end. More often than not the extension was nowhere to be
found, which sent me off looking for another propane station. I now carry in the
van, a propane extension fitting which I had a local propane dealer make for me.
This has come in handy a number of times when the same situation occurs as
described above. The fitting cost me about $30.
