I just removed one with a hammer, it was easy. The drum was harder, In my case I had to get the drum red hot around the hub before it would come off, but I didn't have to remove the hub.

I've been looking for studs to mount my Mercedes wheels. I am looking for a stud that is threaded all the way down to the knurl like the original so that I can still mount my steel spare wheels. I need studs that are between 50mm and 58mm long (measured from under the head) with the threads starting within 13 mm from the head. I've checked around at several FLAPS, porsche shops and dealers and I found one 58 mm stud that would be perfect, but there were no part numbers on it and I can't figure out what it came off of. Does anyone know where I can get such a stud?

I also need studs for the Syncro front. These need to be 62 to 69mm long, with threads starting by 24mm.

Does anyone know where I can get these? Thanks a bunch! -Otmar- 82/86 Stretch Vanagon Westfalia Syncro GTI. "Power of two" http://www.evcl.com/strvan/strvan.html Several EVs (Electric Vehicles) Electric Vehicle Components Ltd. (650) 494-9255
