I'm a veteran of VW's and Porsches, but a Vanagon newby. I've got an expanding family (one wife, 2year old and another baby in October) and the Volvo 240GL Wagon is not cutting it as far as space goes now and in the future. I like the idea of a Westfalia Vanagon for camping but confess to never having stepped inside one. Questions: 1) How many people can be safely (legally) carried in a Westfalia? 2) What is "standard" equipment on a Westfalia Vanagon as far as interior/camping gear? 3) I've seen "weekender" in some Vanagon ads, if this is differently equipped than a Westfalia, how so? 4) Home Improvement now and then requires the fabled 4x8 sheet of plywood test, is this feasbily INSIDE a Vanagon? (Volvo w/ Roof Rack can carry amazing but highly precarious loads....I really should buy a pickup) 5) I'm a Porsche 914 owner and know the possibilities for V-8 Convertions for that car, what is the most popular way of boosting the juice in a Vanagon these days? Thanks, Brian Mifsud S.F, CA Will be looking to sell my '96 Ford Mustang GT 4.6L SOHC or trade for a Vanagon Westfalia. |
