Hi Matt:
You have lots of options. Like G. Matthew Bulley wrote you can see if you
can get the tank blasted and repainted. A RV service center or propane
supplier should know the details on how to get this arranged or installed.
If you decide you want or need a new tank it comes with new valves but
without a regulator. The tanks and regulators are available from
Euro-American RV products, Bus Depot and other list vendors. Check out
vanagon.com and go the the vendors area for more info. A new regulator is
relatively cheap ~$20 and should help ensure that your propane pressure is
within spec, but your old one might be fine. There have been several posts
recently on checking your regulator if you're so inclined.
Replacing the tank, etc isn't especially difficult but if you've never
worked with propane before I'd suggest getting help from someone who has or
paying someone trained to do it. Best of luck. Congrats on your new Westy.
