I too, unfortunately, have been thinking about bagging this idea. at first, i was pretty gung ho about it, and i even have the donor car (i was going to use the 5cyl turbo MC engine) but after talking to a few people and hearing from Detlev that the turbo conversion could cost upwards of 7 to 10 grand!!! i dont think its gonna happen. i'll spend less than $500 on another head gasket job before shelling out $8000 for an engine conversion anyday. the 5cyl is a great engine ( i should know, i have 4 audi 5000 turbo's) but the whole conversion thing is beyond most people's financial means. as Ken Wilford said "only for people with deep pockets" :<)

so i'll stick with my sucky wasserleaker till i win the lottery.
