Hi,

The 87 Westfalia I recently purchased made this rattling sound from the push up frame from the pop up top.

Upon closer inspection and comparing to another Westfalia I noticed that I was missing the black protective caps (sleeves?) that fit over the piece of metal at the elbows of the metal push up frame.

Replacement caps I could not get so I bought a piece .5" diameter clear flexible tubing (.125" thickness wall). I heated it with an hairdryer and a piece of roughly 1" length tubing slipped right on.

End of rattling.

Cost .25c, Canadian cents that is and lots left over since I had to buy a minimum length of 1 foot.

Bye, Hans Brouwer Cumberland, Ontario hbrouwer@istar.ca '87 Westfalia
