Subject: Little Cracks in Tire side walls/idle stabilizer answers.
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

First, as a follow up. Thanks to all those that provide thoughts and advice about my idle stabilizer problem. This time however the mechanic was right. (MInes pretty good and usually is.) Anyway, he first loaned me a used idle valve, but no improvement. Then he loaned me the control module and that did the trick. I've been driving oin it for 3 days and all is fine. Thanks all.

Just another question about tires. I've had my 87 Wolfsburg since 96. The old owner put 4 new MXLs on in 94. The tires now have about 28K miles on them. Tread looks good, but there's little cracks along the sides, which I think is dry rot. Perhaps some of you tire sages can confirm this and also tell me whether this is a problem or not. Appreciate your thoughts. Planning to take a long road trip and need to know. Dan Puzio
