Hey everyone. I'm new to the list, and I am hoping you guys could give me a hand. I am in the process of converting a 1988 Vanagon from Automatic to Stickshift. I am using a 1984 as a parts vehicle, and I am removing all of the necessary parts from that. I am almost done, but I have a few questions that remain. The only subsystems that I have to complete are the hydraulics for the clutch, the electrical stuff, and the accelerator cable. The hydraulics are no big deal, even with dropping the gas tank to run the line. My real question lies with the accelerator cable. The one on the parts van is trashed, and the one from the automatic won't work for obvious reasons. What I need to know is this: Will I have to change out the throttle body to one from a manual transmissioned van to make the connection work? And if so, Will the one from the '84 work? It is Digijet, and the '88 is Digifant. Thanks alot, I appreciate any advice you can offer.

-Dave
