<< I found a set of MSW 16 x 7 ET38 wheels from a 1988 Mercedes 300, advertised in the local trader paper. They have 17mm studs, so the bolt holes need to be drilled out. How difficult/expensive is this? I measured the bolt pattern and it was difficult to tell if it was 5 x 112mm. Could they be 110mm? How do I determine what size spacers I need to run? TIA Tom Rehkugler >> I don't think any modifying is necessary at all. I have 16" Ronal R9's on my syncro, and Ronal's are direct bolt-on wheels for Mercedes. All I had to do was find a set of lug NUTS with the correct taper to mesh with the Ronals. The bold pattern is 5X112, which is the same as vanagon. See ya, Michael. 87 syncro 87 quattro
