at the bottom of the vent window, there is a pivot-thingie. it has a shaft that sticks down through the rubber gasket (that surrounds the vent window) and into the interior of the door. on the bottom of that shaft is a clamp. tighten that clamp just a tad (just a screw on it) and the vent window gets harder to open/close, and will stay open in the wind.

sounds simple, right? :) wrong. :( you have to take the interior door panel off (which means all the window crank, door latch, and armrest), then peel down the plastic sheet (vapor barrier), THEN you get to look up in the door through those big holes in the metal (you DID remember to roll UP the window before you took the window crank off, right?) and look for that clamp. it's way up in there, and access is NOT easy. you'll likely have to use a flashlight to see it, and/or a mirror to see what you are doing. you can't get a normal screwdriver up in there, so one of these little Z-shaped screwdrivers (sears sells them in their tool section), phillips-head, to tighten the clamp screw.

and be careful ... those metal edges of the door holes are sharp and can scratch and cut your hands.

good luck! joel
