Dear Steve Thanks for your interest in the Westy. We named the Westy after the VW Westphalia which was the most popular camper of all time. They are a lot alike, however, we have built our camper on the reliable workhorse of a Ford chassis, so there are no issues of power or repair! Hope this helps. Let me know if I can be of further help. Sincerely, Julia Whitman, Customer Service GTRV-USA, home of the Westy, the most popular camper on the road today. Visit us at www.gtrv.com
