About 2 months ago, I had this same problem.  Researched the archives and

thought the problem to be complicated--ie. changed temp sensor II, rotor cap,
ignition coil, new AFM, checked all grounds, and maybe some other things.



But the solution was both simple and cheap.  I replaced the fuel filter for
$5.92 from NAPA.  This solved the problem completely.  3-4 days after the fix,
I was on the highway and it happened again.  I immediately drove home,
unhooked the filter and drained the fuel from the filter into a clean pail. 

Surprise--there was crud in it.  I kept the filter on and for the pasy 1-2,000
miles it has been great.  I also keep a spare fuel filter in case it happens
again.


I learned to try the cheap, easy and inexpensive fix first.
