Hi,


I've been enjoying this list for about three years now AND my Vanagon
"Happy".  Lots of camping trips, new friends and exciting adventures await
those who dare to own one of these!  But, I am having trouble with my tranny
again after having had it fixed last year.  After 2,000 miles on my rebuilt
one the 3rd gear is no longer engaging (automatic transmission).  The fellow
who did the work has been hospitalized for the past four months so I have no
hope of him making the repairs.  I have found another mechanic who says to
find a rebuilt or used transmission and he'd be happy to do the
installation.


Help, guy!  I need to find one of these rare jewels before my poor van
begins to rust and gets tire rot!  I haven't been able to drive it for
months now, and I really don't know where to start looking.  Any of you can
privately e-mail me with instructions and I'd be most obliged! : D
