The estimate for the work to be done on my 1Y, (1.9 diesel), from my original machinist was $350. This would include: bore and fit of block to 0.020" over, rebuild head, (I have two loose chambers), recond. the rods, and clean and polish the crank. All the preliminary work like the miking and checking is included.

I don't think you can do a thorough rebuild for less than you can buy one. The advantage is you do it with all the care and precision you can muster and with the German or equal parts, and it will likely be better than what you can buy anywhere. -Dana-
