There's NO panelling to take off...the AC compressor is attached the rear of the engine on the driver's side.

I seem to remember that the receiver-dryer and freon recharge was about $250 when I had it done on my wife's 91 Carat a few summers ago.

Someone will probably chime in from the list vendors and tell you that a NEW compressor is less than the repair...
