It takes an hour or so for you to see results on my fridge. I would plug it in to 110 volts AC in your garage or driveway for an hour or two then see if you get anything. Or switch to 12 v DC if you are going to drive some distance, (Hour or two) remember it is a relative cooling, so if you are 95 degrees outside temp, dont expect ice cubes soon.It is silent except for a cooling fan that won't come on until the coils get real hot.
