Subject: Block heater Why?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi,

I recently purchased a 87 Westfalia and it contains a block heater. It is the size of 2 sardine cans next to each other and bolted underneath the engine.

I would like to remove it with the thought that the extra airflow would cause the engine to run cooler.

Am I on the right track here or does the block heater serve another function than the one for warming the engine oil in the winter?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Regards, Hans Brouwer
