Subject: For Burning Man/VW Bus Vets
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Greetings!

Was talking to a friend today about Burning Man and he suggested that due to the high winds which can occur in the Black Rock Desert that I tie guy lines to my awning supports and then tent stake the lines into the ground. This is to prevent the awning from being pushed upwards (and perhaps over the bus) as a strong wind gust is likely to do.

Are tent stakes strong enough for this, or should I go with rebar?

Also, it was suggested that since I don't have tinted windows, I should consider putting aluminum foil on the inside of them, in order to reflect heat and light. Any pros/cons to this?

Thanks for any help.
