I've been kind of moping around looking for a good deal on new tires and
wishing the Michelins weren't so expensive.


Since I have military priveleges, I checked the Base Exchange . . . $102.00.


Looked at the Tire Rack web site . . . $91.00


Just for grins, I stopped at Discount Tires (a fairly common tire chain store
out West).  There was a set of 4 in town for . . . drum roll please . . .
$75.00 each.  I told them the story of my comparison shopping and had the guy
check and double check the price: they gave me a printed quote.


I'm having them installed tomorrow.
