Subject: Re: Rear wheel axle nut torque
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

Dear Volks,

My Bentley manual, with a copyright date of 1989, lists the following for rear axle nut torques:

Page 42.1, Quick Data, Rear Axle Nut: 350 Nm / 253 ft lb Page 42.4, Rear Wheel Suspension, Shafts & Axle: 500 Nm / 360 ft lb Page 46.6, Brakes - Mechanical Components: 350 Nm / 253 ft lb

I'm confused. Two out of three seem to indicate 253 ft lb torque on the rear axle nut is appropriate. . . .

Anyone have an updated manual with "better" information?

Thanks much,

TJ Sheffield '87 Syncro
