Jeanne, anad Michael,
On my 84 Westy, on the door pillars to which are attached the upper seat belt
connections, there are two threaded fittings (holes) .The top one held the upper
seat belt connector, and the bottom was filled by a decorative, white plastic
"screw." Using a flat screw driver blade, 17 mm wrench and a Phillips screw
driver, I pried off the plastic cover of the upper connection, removed the bolt,
fittings, washers and all, and changed the site to the approximately 5" lower
"hole."
