I made a driveway awning from a tarp and a PVC pipe frame.
I used PVC elbows at the corners.
Make sure to get heavy enough pipe to carry the load.
My awning is 10x10, and kinda sags with 1.5 inch PVC.  2 inch would do the
trick.
