Regarding the  "Gerry, are you alive?" messages, these are unnecessary, all
we have to do is to send a message to Listserv@gerry.vanagon.com with the
message HELP  or  QUERY VANAGON  and if one does not hear back, Gerry is
'down' and you have saved the  "Gerry, are you alive?" messages from going to
800 people and sitting in the archives forever.   Malcolm S
