Subject:   European Camper/caravan vs. ours?

Hi all;

I posted this earlier but forgot to change the subject, so am re-posting it.

This (Eurovan & Vanagon mailing lists) may not be the best place to ask, but if so perhaps someone can redirect me.

I am planning a trip to Europe and plan to rent a VW camper/caravan for a month. I understand that the model I can see here (Canada) is done by Winnebago, and I wonder how the European models compare? Are the beds, layout, and mechanical specs the same/different? A dealer here told me the US/Canadian models have a longer wheelbase and are quite different? Any help or pointers to the best rental places in Europe would be much appreciated. . . .
