Subject: URGENT!!! need tranny URGENT!!! need todd hill
Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII

last fortnight, i was driving home from connecticut along 95, and through the bronx, there were minor delays. then some driver decided to stop in the middle of the road for no reason, and i jammed on my brakes, double-clutched it into first, and blasted/swerved around him like the title of two of meatloaf's albums. while this was happening, i heard a loud thump/metal-on-metal noise, and some crunching back in the engine bay. i really didn't want to stop and see what it was, so i kept pressing on and made it save and sound to catonsville, md where i live.

so i have a request to make to any technically minded listee in the metro baltimore/DC area who has a spare tranny, or knows of a spare tranny for not more than $500 and who has thetools needed (engine hoist, 3/4" rachet) who would be able to help me get back on the road by wednesday of next week at the latest. i will not be able to pay much, but i might be able to convince my mom to make some crabcakes

i will take all reasonable offers, and hwomever i choose to help me out, all the rest of y'all in the neighborhood can stop on by.

thanks in advance.

and toddhill, please let me know the cheapest way of beefing up a v-dub tranny.keep in mind that i go to college, so even $2000 is a little too much money for me to spend. thanks
