According to the package directions for GILA brand window tinting, a solution of ammonia is supposed to be used to remove the glue (or they sell their own stuff in tiny bottles for about $4). They say to spray the tinting, then cover it with plastic wrap and tape to let it "marinate" for an hour or so. I haven't tried this so I don't know how well it works. First, see if the tint is water-based in adherence material. Some window tints are. If it is, use water and clean the windows. If it is a "glue," as was mine, and I used "Lift Off," from Loctite. The prime ingredient is "Xylol,:" readily availabe in paint stores at considerably less cost than branded, spray-can " Lift-Off." "Removes bumper stickers, contact paper, pinstriping," and, among other items, not specificalluy mentioned is widow tinting, though Lift-Off worked for me. Usual disclaimers.
