Today on http://www.auto.com there is an article http://www.auto.com/industrywire/qtrux22.htm about how the japanese and european car manufacturers will try to take a piece of the full size pickup truck market, which until now has been dominated by the big 3. Toyota are already out with its contribution in its class, with several other japanese following up. The interesting thing is, quote: "Among European automakers, Volkswagen AG has said it may build a big pickup for the U.S. market, probably from the SUV it's developing with Porsche." The big three say they do not fear these foreign trucks, but in the 50s and 60s, they didn't fear the VWs and Japanese cars either. If VW will do this, maybe you (and we in Europe) can see a truck with the new V8 TDI soon to be launched for the Audi A8? Time will tell, now you'll have something to dream about, eh?
