My van is exhibiting the same symptoms as Marshall's. One of the front tires has diagonal wear marks across the tread. I'm terrible at diagnosing treadwear problems. Is this a symptom of poor alignment, worn shocks, tire separation, or some other problem or combination of problems? The tires are Uniroyal Laredo's purchased before I knew better. On a separate note, I replaced the clutch last week. The new clutch is so light I thought I had done something wrong at first. Shifts like a dream since I readjusted the shift linkage. I did notice that the new pressure plate (Sachs "Super Set" from Bus Depot) is much less massive than the original plate. Could this decreased mass be one of the causes of the chattering of which many Sachs users have complained? Randy, Carla & Anna Huyck, Olympia, WA '75 Rustfalia '85 Vanagon GL '90 Fox GL |
