Have a 1990 Vanagon Carat. Ran 87 octane for years. Started to run worse and worse. Eventually the oil pressure light came on after heavy up-hill acceleration. Upon the advise on my mechanic went to 93 octane. the car immediately ran differently. Almost like a new car. Now I only use 92 or 93. It made a clear difference for me. > In a message dated 8/25/99 6:05:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time, > lindgre@ONLINE.NO writes: > > << Here in Norway, I have to pay $4,61 for 95 octane, but the 98 octane I > have to fill my Van with costs $4,85. >> > > COSTCO Wholesale, here in Issaquah, WA. is selling regular fuel for $1.38 and > premium fuel for $1.58.
