Subject: Glowing -- not flashing -- fridge ignitor light
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

Has anyone had experience with this?

The electric ignitor on my Dometic Fridge is failing sporadically. Instead of flashing rapidly when the ignitor is working, the red light just glows steadily when I push the 'flame' (LP operation) button in -- and no ignitor.

When this first happened, it was after I had been running the fridge on DC during a long drive.

When it happened the second time, it was after I had washed the van and, even though I had taped up the flue vent, somehow water had gotten inside.

This time there is no APPARENT reason -- although I ran out of propane last week and didn't get around to filling it up until today.Generally, this fridge has been working very well.

I use the fridge A LOT -- basically have it on (propane) most of the time as I like to keep stuff in there for spontaneous lunches. From time to time, the flame has blown out and I have come back to the clicking of an ignitor that has been trying to relight the fridge with no sucess......so that it has been sparking for maybe a hour or two. :<(

I read through the Dometic manual and it offers no explanation for a steadily glowing red light.

Thanks in advance for your help.
