New-to-water 84 Westy owner here. I am dropping the engine in order to remove and replace the exhaust studs on the heads. I know...maybe not completely necessary to drop it, but I am convinced it'll save time and be done right this way. I'm also using this drop as a "getting-to-know-you" session with my first vanagon. Replacing fuel lines, fixing oil leaks, etc are on the agenda also. Heads and bottom end stay as-is. Can you experienced folks tell me the "DO'S" and pointers that the manuals dont mention. I have Bentley and Haynes and they are fine. Just finish this sentence maybe: While the engine is out, also check, replace, repair...
