Here is what I  have- '84 1.9l Calif Emission

In-between the tank and fuel pump is a black square fuel filter and after is
the large silver canister filter.  can replace the small black filter with
just a generic square filter or is there something special about this.  Or
is the box supposed to be white and I have sooo much crap in there that it's
black.
