I need a cool logo for my website and thought I would call on the talent of this list to give me some help.

I have Vanagon wind deflectors or window vents to award as a prize for the best submission.

Please reply though private email for details.

Now for some good Vanagon content. Well actually, this applies to Vanagons, but I did this to my '74 Westy.

My poptop was not in the best condition and I didn't want to spend the big bucks to have it professionally painted. So I sanded it down, filled the cracks and scratches with bondo and spot putty and rolled on the paint.

I used Rustoleum oil based paint designed for patio furniture. I've been using this on my bumpers from a spray can, and it looks a lot like the matt white original paint. I bought a couple of quart cans and a smooth foam roller and went to work.

I carefully rolled the paint on and I'm quite pleased with the results. A pretty smooth finish with a little texture. Not bad, and much better than a brush!

The only problem I encountered was with trying to get all the lint and dust off the fiberglass. Even with sanding, the fibers tend to latch on to lint. After the first coat, I went over the paint and sanded out the dust and small particles. The first coat sealed the fibers. If I had to do it over again, I would have sprayed on a sandable primer first.

Now for tomorrow, I'm installing the new custom made poptop canvas from Dawn Smythe at PLF. (Custom contrasting color with white netting and larger windows.)
