I had the same problem on My Jetta Recently. At low speeds (10Mph) I got the
thump. It felt like the right rear. In order to test this I switched the
left front with the right rear. The thump moved to the left front. The tire
didn't appear to be separated, but it must have had a flat spot. It solved
the problem with a set of Toyo 800 Ultra's. The Goodyear GA's that came on
it when I bought it were terrible when they were new, @ 40,000 they were
awful. I figured it was best to just replace all of them.

        Anyway try moving the suspicious tire to a different spot.

Check to see if you have a wheel which is out of round,  ie the tire has a
flattened section.    Sometimes this can be detected by coasting down a
smooth road slowly (5mph) and feeling the vehicle pitch from side to side.
