Subject: Detlev Says Hi to List from Germany!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

As some of you know, Detlev Hanschke, is now in Germany. I talked to him today and he says "Hi" to the List and is doing well.

He told me a few things that I think the List would be interested in. First he says that he can get brand new TDI engines from Germany complete with everything (wiring harness, ECU, turbo, intake, injection pump, etc) for $6500. These engines are hard to find here in the US but are more plentiful over there. If you are interested about one of these please pmail me.

Second, Detlev is looking into importing a '90 Double Cab Turbo diesel! He is still doing research on this but he has found the truck at a good price and wants to bring it back to the US with him. Does anyone see any major problems with this? I wonder if he can do it as there were no '90 Turbo Diesel Vanagons sold here in the US, but besides that I don't see any big problems.

Also if anyone wants any of the stuff from Winkler now is the time to order it since Detlev is over there and can speed up and personally inspect any order that we get before he comes back to the US (September 3rd). Thanks, Ken Wilford Van-Again John 3:16
