Subject: I need advice

I have been in love with Volkswagens all my life. My parents had a red bug in the late '60's, and in 1972 we drove across the country in a Bus. I finally had a chance to get my own Volkswagen last year - a 1984 Vanagon Westfalia. The body and the interior were in such great shape I just couldn't pass it up. In April however, the engine blew out. I took it to the local VW dealer, and after much discussion we decided that the best thing for me to do would be to order a rebuilt short block from Volkswagen. It was to take 3-4 weeks and even though I was sad about being without my Westy for so long, I figured it would be worth the wait. The end of May rolled around and no engine - it was to be in by the end of June, just in time to take it on a road trip for my vacation. The end of June came and went and no engine. Here it is, almost September and I'm still waiting.

I've contacted Customer Service twice and both times they said they would look into it and call me back in a few days. They aren't even calling me back. Besides needing my car, I'm missing out on a lot of fun with it. I just started film school and I would really like to be able to use my Westy for location shoots. I am a patient person, but I am starting to get really frustrated! Could someone please assure me that Volkswagen doesn't normally take so long to get things done? Does anyone have any other ideas how I can contact Volkswagen to find out what's going on?

Thanks, Paul Geils
