I am sure this list will find the importation process interesting. Any Chance the list could be updated with Delev's progress?

I once looked into importing a Land Rover from England and found this much out:

It used to be that any U.S. Citizen could import one vehicle into the U.S. from any country once within their lifetime. No Questions Asked, they only had to pay estimated Duty/Taxes. This law was changed in 1991 and now only applies to vehicles 25 years old or older. I can't help but think that the law was changed as the result of the importing of "Grey Market" Mercedes during the 80's. I seem to remember Mercedes not being pleased about having their throats cut with their own product.

The rules are very confusing, If anyone can figure out the NHTSA rules and Numbering system please share it with the group.
