Subject: rear gas can carrier ( winkler )
Content-Type: Text/Plain; Charset=US-ASCII

Does anyone have experience with the rear gas can carrier of the style seen on the vanagain site? It seems like a neat idea to me but 300+ bucks with shipping is a lot of money to carry 5 gal of extra gas around. The price is probably reasonable considering it comes special order from Germany but is still a lot for me for an admittedly cool but maybe seldom used item. If anyone has used this carrier or similar I am interested in you feedback. Also, maybe someone has come up with a good way for less than $300 to rig up something to carry more fuel without a stinky and dangerous can inside the van. Here in Kansas extended range is a plus in some areas esp. at night. I appreciate any ideas as always. I have had my 84 Westy for a little over a week now and love it...this list has helped me out just lurking. Thanks all!

PS. Anyone from my general area ( Kansas City ) know anything about the MoKan VW Club that supposedly exists?
