Karen:

This is normal if the temperature of the top condenser coil is over 125 degrees or so (easy when it is hot an humid). I find that with the stock fan, if the ambient temp is much over 80 degrees, you can count on listening to that fan a LOT! (This is why I sleep with my head at the back of the bed instead of the more convenient spot near the center) :-)

I recently replaced my stock fan with a Fridgemate unit and it is a LOT quieter. Seems to push about the same amount of air. I'll post long term results later...

On my last camping trip, the weather was quite hot and my refrigerator fan started running almost constantly. It would finally shut off, then come back on almost immediately. Does anyone have experience with this? It otherwise seemed to be working fine. Is it bad to use the fridge when this is happening? I remember some comment on this topic a long time ago so there may be something in the archives. Can someone give me the address for the archives?

Hope to camp this week-end at the beach north of Jacksonville if Hurricane Dennis doesn't blow it!
