Subject: Max Tire Size and Ground Clearance?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Several questions related to improving the ground clearance on a '90 Carat. Thanks in advance for the contributions.

1. Does anyone know what the maximum tire size is for the later 2wd vanagon? (I don't mind speedo error and gearing differences, but I don't want rub- I was hoping that a modest increase of 205/75-14 would fit)

2. This question is more of curiosity. In the vanagon specs, I notice the older 2wd vanagons (ie. '84) have a ground clearance of 7.5" while my '90 is rated at 6.3". What explains the difference here?
