I'd put Vblok throughout. It really lowered the engine and road noise in my Westy, and I only did half. I still plan to eventually pull the floor and lay down more vb3.

www.cascadeaudio.com for info.

My site www.oz.net/~tyg has pics of my install.

Well as we bought a house this summer and had no money to take a trip, but lots of time on my hands ---- I took EVERYTHING out of my CDN 91 Westy.

I took out the kitchen cabinet, the water reservoir cabinet, The rear seat, the two rear cabinets, I took up the floor boards, took off the side panels, took out the insulation, it is BARE inside from the front seats rearward.

Why? For several reasons, 1) I am going to take it for a complete application of Krown Rust Inhibitor oily stuff. and they can not do a complete job with all of the insulation in place. 2) the rust proofing guys will have to drill fewer holes in the van. 3) I wanted to hunt for any hidden rusted places. 4) I wanted to get to know my van better.

I am pleased to say that most of the van is in good shape. I did find RUST in the side bottom of the side panel just to right of the rear seat - down at floor level. There was some discussion as to insulation holding moisture. I think that is what happened here, as the bottom of the insulation was VERY rust coloured. I have a few other pockets of rust back along interior of the rear panels, but I knew about those and I have had at it with Krown Rust Inhibitor stuff. The only casualty was the big coiled filler hose, but that can be replaced no problem.

Also the holes for the utilities is just starting to around around the edges. I'll get to it with grinders, anti-rust paint and cover paint.

If you are still reading this, any tricks on taking up the front carpet and underlay??? Anything else I might think of doing while everything is out??

Malcolm S
