Paul,

You only need the cooling fan when the ram air at the front of the vehicle is reduced such as stop & go traffic. Usually when cruising @ 55 MPH the fan never cycles on (excluding a/c operation). So if your trip is highway speed you're ok but I'd avoid stop & go operation. Having said that just remember that using the 102*C "safety net" means that the cooling system is ABOVE the boiling point..............
