Hi all, Kennedy's first conversion was for the automatic and apparently it seems a bit easier to do. (the auto trans. kit is somewhat cheaper than the manual $1040 vs. $1100) As for the radiator, they suggest plumbing with copper tubing and I've read about others using conduit. I have not done either one but the conduit just sounds wonky and it seems the copper tubing could end up in an electrolytic conflict with the aluminum. What does intrigue me is Kennedy's suggestion to use a top filled radiator. I thought that was a pretty nifty idea and maybe even retro- fit it onto my wasserboxer. Seems like a good idea to be able to not have to go through that wild bleeding procedure and with the cost of an OEM radiator. Anybody tried that? Walter '86 Westy "Miles" |
