Kate, > Hi all I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of some decent camping in > the PA or NJ area. PA has a decent system for their state parks. Check on the web under: We stayed in Hickory Run State Park recently for a music festival and it was quite nice. I did some winter wildcountry backpacking in the Allegheny National Forest, which was spectacular, but even a Syncro couldn't go where we went. I imagine there are good places to vehicle camp though. PA is a big state...I think you need to decide where you want to go. BTW, we're hosting Busses by the Trail, a VW campout October 15-17, in Lenhartsville, between Harrisburg and Allentown: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/bbtt Also, there's a semi-organized group of eastern PA people (pavanagon) that we hope to do stuff with: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/pavanagon/ -Karl Karl and Kristina Bloss, Trexlertown, PA '87 GL Weekender "Beverley" - 185K miles VW Mechanic list: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/vwshops Busses by the Trail - Oct 15-17, 1999: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/bbtt PA/NJ Vanagon owner's mailing list: http://www.onelist.com/subscribe/pavanagon |
