This is the law I've heard about. Even as a smoker, it makes a whole lot more sense than the banning of smoking in your car in general. If a law passes saying I can't smoke within the confines of my privately owned vehicle, then how far behind that is a law saying I can't smoke in my own home (which I don't because of the kids) or on my own property or even outdoors?

Here's something from my local New York State assemblyman which shows that politicians have been thinking about this although haven't gotten around to passing it.
