For what its worth here's my expirience: 1. 1987 Syncro Westfalia 2. VW Reman. from dealer (FlynnVW) installed by Jim DiGennaro 3. Cost--about $3,000 installed. Feb.'99 4. Miles: 8,000 5. Problems: none All things being equal, I'd definately go with the dealer engine again. I've visited the Scarborough ON plant while at the Great Canadian Bug Show a few years back. Even got a copy of their brochure. Darnedest thing, at that time most of the engines they were remanufacturing were for Chrysler and Mitsubishi! -- -Dale Ward, President of LiMBO ____________________________________________________ The Late Model Bus Organization, international zzzzzzzzzzzzzz_ '90 Westfalia, '87 Syncro Westy |E[__][__]|[_]\\ '90 Vanagon, '84 Sunroof Vanagon | _ LiMBO | _ || '76 Westfalia, '72 Super Beetle =-( )-------( )--= '97 Passat Wagon 9 Golden Hill Ave '97 Golf Shrewsbury,MA 01545 http://www.bcn.net/~limbo |
