Hi Volks: Many may recall my recent pleas for help to determine why I was getting a rhythmic thumping while driving. Several listees suggested that I rotate my space onto each corner - to isolate the bad tire, if it was a tire. Well, it was a bad tire - a Continental Contact with less than 10,000 KM on it. The dealer sent it to the tire distributor - who made the diagnosys. They prorated the tire, and charged me $50 for a new one - the dealer wants $15.00 to install and balance the new one. Well, I saw scuffing on the tire as well, so I'm in for a $65.00 wheel alignment in addition. I've never had one of these done before - is this a typical price for the alighnment? BTW: Thanks to all the kind listees, who took the time to help me with the thumping problem. Cheers! Marshall Ruskin 84 Westy "Iron Igloo" Founding Member of "Vanagon's Anonymous" |
