Since I enjoy reading trip reports rather than fault reports here's mine.

Our 82 2L air-cooled hi-top camper has just 'transported' us on a four week
adventure down though Britain and across northern France to the Alsace
region. We went via the channel tunnel and stayed at about ten different
camp sights over the four weeks. One site for a week and others for one or
two nights.
A great time was had by all (two adults plus two kids 4 and 1.5) so the
camper, I think, will stay in our family a bit longer. The van ran great
over the 2500 miles although I dare not calculate the MPG! I have to agree
with Dave Horrigan in that I saw only two or three type2s over the holiday.
Where have they all gone? Lots of T3s, though most were late 80s and 90s
all singing all dancing models.
For anyone venturing into France we found the Michelin camp site guide is a
must. We stayed at some real classy joints...swimming pools, mountain
biking, pony trekking and of course French bowls. Unspoilt villages and
mountain top castles. No I don't work for the French tourist board, I just
had a nice holiday.
