That is a very good point. I belive that kevlar is great stuff --- wore it in the Army all the time. The basic point is to reinforce the fake mounts. Any system that spreads out the weight over a wider area would be the best.

You could mount a metal plate Inside and outside of the camper shell, longer/wider than the fake gutter with a few extra holes in it to distribute the weight alittle bit more. If we were talking a great amount of weight I would look at three or four mounts instead of just two.
